Baby monitor advice

Thank you for the great advice regarding registering for my baby shower. With the help of my friend Diane, I have now successfully registered at Wal-Mart and Target. I was wondering if anyone could help me pick out a monitor. Again, there are so many choices. Some have video screens, lights, remote-controls, plays music and sounds, vibrates, and even monitors the temperature of the baby's room. Ahhhhh Please tell me what is useful and what is not. I was surprised how expensive they can get.

We wished both times that we would have gotten a video monitor. I think Mandy Miller and her husband used one and loved it. It would be so helpful to see in the room to see if you need to go in or not. Cuz sometimes - you go in when you shoulnd't have and then they hear/see you and then they are up. Get a video one. I think it would be worth it.

The best baby monitor you can get, in my opinion, is a video survailance (i don't think i spelled that right) from sam's club for $100. it's wireless and you can hook it up to your input channle on your tv. it was the best money i've ever spent. it has ultrared so you can see at night and there are two cameras that you can change back and forth to get different views. if you can't get it at sam's, they have them at wal-mart
